Introduction 📖

Memberships is a feature that allows you to segment customers into distinct groups. This segmentation allows you to tailor loyalty programs with custom rules, promotions, and benefits for your specific customer groups.

Requirements

✅ Influence.io Starter* plan or Higher:

Starter does not have access to recurring rewards, and can only create one membership group.

Instructions ⚙️

Creating your Memberships

You may be looking to use this feature to separate your customers based on many different factors. This could be to split your customers by the number of purchases made, split B2B and B2C customers and many other reasons. Once in the Memberships tab, you can click ‘Add Memberships’ and it will take you to the setup stage.

When you are in the setup stage, you will have the option to exclude Referrals, StampCards and Shopify Checkout to align with your specific group goals. Then you can click Create and start editing your Earn Rules.

Once created, you can then set earn and redeem rules that apply specifically to that Membership. By default, rules will apply to all customers unless specified otherwise.

When the earn and redeem rules are added you can view them from the Memberships page. You would then need to click "Enable" to start applying the memberships to customer purchases and accounts.

Enabling Earn Rules to a Membership

After setting up your memberships, you may want to add Earn Rules that you were already using to specific Memberships. To do this, you will need to click into an Earn Rule and then scroll down to the "Memberships" setting.

You can then select to "Make this rule available only to specific Memberships" and then a button will appear to "Select Membership". When you click that button, you will be able to choose one of the Memberships that you created. This will then take action once the Rule settings have been saved.

Monthly Rewards

Monthly Rewards allow you to award your customers with a new reward once every month. This can be a great way to keep your membership engagements engaged, for example if you're trying to win back customers, engage new customers or just want to reward your most loyal customers.

To setup a reward, you'll need to edit your membership group. Here there will be a section for the monthly reward:

Designated Reward Day: This determines which day of the month your customers will be awarded (this ranges from 1-28 to account for the shortest month of the year)

Grant reward immediately if member joins after the designated award date: This ensure that your customers will be rewarded every month, regardless of when they enter into the group. If the designated reward day is the 12th below outlines when the customer will received their reward:

  • If a customer joins on the 7th: The customer will get their reward on the 12th

  • If a customer joins on the 28th: The customer will get their reward on the 28th

  • If a customer joins on the 1st of the following month: The customer will get their reward on the 12th

Add Monthly Rewards: These are the rewards that the customer will be given every month. You can create up to 5 rewards. To do this you need to press "Add Monthly Reward" & pick from one of offered reward types (Such as points, Product Discount, Amount Discount etc)

Customer Management

Customers can only be one membership at a time. They can be assigned to their membership by Shopify Flow, this would need to be done via automated workflows for enrolment and removal. Other methods would be via API or by sending us a CSV with the customers alongside the tier they need to be assigned. If you only have a few changes to make, you can manually set the customer membership on the customer's account page within the Dashboard.
