Referral Reward Configuration

Encourage your customers to refer friends by offering a reward when someone they refer places an order.

📚 Introduction

Referrals are a powerful way to turn your existing customers into advocates for your brand. With our referral feature, you can reward both the customer who shares their referral link and the friend who makes a purchase using it — helping you grow your customer base organically.

This feature is available on the Starter plan and above.

You’ll be able to:

  • Incentivise sharing by rewarding loyal customers

  • Offer first-time discounts to new customers

  • Track successful referrals and automatically issue rewards

To get started, you’ll need to configure the rewards for both the referring customer and the friend. Each reward type is fully customisable to fit your brand and business goals.

You can configure your referral rewards from this page.
There are two reward types to set up:

  • Customer Reward: The person who shares their referral link.

  • Friend Reward: The person who uses the referral link.

Each reward type supports a variety of reward options and settings, described in detail below.


🙋 Customer Reward

Reward customers when someone they refer makes a purchase. To get started, press Add a reward

You can choose one of the following reward types:


💵 Amount Discount

Give the customer a fixed discount off their next order (e.g. £5 off).

Configuration Options

  • Discount Value: The value of the discount (e.g. £5, €10).

  • Product Type Applicability: Apply to one-time purchases, subscription purchases or both

  • Combinations: Allow this discount to be combined with other promotions or not.

  • Collection Applicability: Restrict usage to certain collections.

  • Discount Code Prefix: Add a prefix for easier code recognition (e.g. REF-).

  • Reward Title: Display name used in the widget, emails, and integrations.

Give the customer a percentage off their next order (e.g. 10% off).

Configuration Options

  • Discount Value: The value of the discount (e.g. 10%, 5%).

  • Product Type Applicability: Apply to one-time purchases, subscription purchases or both

  • Combinations: Allow this discount to be combined with other promotions or not.

  • Collection Applicability: Restrict usage to certain collections.

  • Discount Code Prefix: Add a prefix for easier code recognition (e.g. REF-).

  • Reward Title: Display name used in the widget, emails, and integrations.


🚚 Free Shipping

Cover shipping costs for your referring customer.

Configuration Options

  • Max Shipping Value: Set a cap on the shipping discount (e.g. up to £5).

  • Product Type Applicability: Apply to one-time purchases, subscription purchases or both

  • Combinations: Allow this discount to be combined with other promotions or not.

  • Collection Applicability: Restrict usage to certain collections.

  • Discount Code Prefix: Add a prefix for easier code recognition (e.g. REF-).

  • Reward Title: Display name used in the widget, emails, and integrations.


🌟 Loyalty Points

Award loyalty points instead of a discount.

Configuration Options

  • Point Value: The number of points to award (e.g. 500 points).

  • Point Expiry Interactions: Extend the customer’s point expiry date if this reward is earned.

👥 Friend Reward

Give friends a discount on their first purchase, when your existing customers refer them. To get started, press Add a reward

You can choose one of the following reward types:
