📚 Introduction
Influence allows you to generate discount codes that are compatible with Shopify Subscriptions and other subscription apps.
This functionality applies to these program options:
⚙️ How It Works
When creating a relevant Redeem Rule (or other discount-based reward), you’ll see a Product Type Applicability section
This allows you to decide whether the generated discount code will apply to:
🛒 One-time purchases only → Discount codes can only be applied to standard (non-subscription) products.
🔄 Subscription products only → Discount codes can only be applied to subscription purchases.
✅ Both → Discount codes can be applied to both one-time and subscription orders.
👉 You must have Shopify Subscriptions enabled to select Subscription products or Both, otherwise the discount will not generate.
⚙️ Default Settings
If you don’t want to set this every time, you can configure a default in your Influence dashboard:
Settings → Shopify Settings → Default Product Type Applicability
⚠️ This default will only apply to newly created discounts, existing rules will remain unchanged.
✅ Once set, Influence will automatically generate discounts with the correct subscription compatibility for your program.
