Introduction
Multi-Currency lets stores using Shopify Markets display all of their loyalty program's currency values — earn rule thresholds, redeem rule costs, tier boundaries, and more — in each customer's own local currency, instead of only the store's base currency.
It's important to understand one thing up front, because it shapes everything else in this guide:
Multi-Currency is purely cosmetic. It changes what customers see — it does not change how points are earned, calculated, or redeemed. All of that logic still runs on your store's base currency, exactly as it did before you turned the feature on. Multi-Currency just translates the numbers on screen so they make sense to whoever's looking at them.
Requirements
Multi-Currency relies on Shopify Markets exchange rate data. Before turning it on, make sure:
Your store has Shopify Markets set up for the currencies/regions you want to support
You're on the Plus plan
What's in this guide
This collection is split into five articles:
Multi-Currency Settings — turning the feature on, the disclaimer setting, translations, and the automatic rule-title backfill
Widget Display — what customers see, and where, once the feature is live
Title Parameters — the two placeholder tags that power multi-currency titles, and where each one works
Emails — how the same logic carries through to email notifications
FAQ — refunds, conversion math, tier progress, referrals, and other common questions
Start with Multi-Currency Settings to turn the feature on — everything else in this collection assumes it's already enabled.
