Overview
Once Multi-Currency is enabled, every widget that shows a currency value automatically displays it in the customer's local currency — calculated live from Shopify Markets exchange rates. No extra widget setup is required; this is handled by the Multi-Currency Settings you've already configured, plus the title parameters baked into your rule titles.
Where it shows up
Area | What converts |
Earn rules | Earning values (e.g. points per £ spent, sign-up value) |
Redeem rules | Redemption costs and reward values |
Referrals | Reward values shown to the referrer and their friend |
Loyalty tiers | Tier entry thresholds and reward values |
Stamp cards | Reward values tied to stamp card completion |
Memberships | Monthly membership reward values |
Remember: this is a display layer only. A customer's points balance, tier status, and redemption value are still calculated against your store's base currency — Multi-Currency just shows the number in a currency they recognise.
Referrals — a special case
Referrals aren't fully supported by Shopify Markets in the same way earn/redeem/tier rules are:
Influence can't yet resolve a referral across multiple storefront domains — a referral link takes the recipient to the landing page defined in referrals settings
If a customer generates a referral code in one market and then switches markets, the referral still works correctly, but the widget may not reflect their current market's currency for that referral.
Loyalty Tiers — progression vs. displayed value
Tier progression percentage stays consistent regardless of exchange rate movement — a customer who's 60% of the way to a tier stays at 60%, because that's calculated against the base-currency threshold. What can fluctuate is the displayed local-currency amount remaining to the next tier, since that number is recalculated from the live exchange rate each time the widget renders.
See the FAQ article for more on how exchange rate movement can affect what's displayed.
